The Porsche Cayman is a wonderful driving experience. The Cayman is a Mid-Engine, Rear-Wheel-Drive coupe that offers a close encounter of the 911 driving style. While sharing a good deal of basic engineering with Porsche's Boxster line, the Cayman's more rigid, closed-body structure gives this mid-engine rear-wheel-drive two-seater even better handling and a sportier appearance. The Cayman and Cayman S have some major differences that when highlighted have proven to be important in the buying process. The Cayman is equipped with a 2.9-Liter H6 while the Cayman S is equipped with a 3.4-Liter H6. The base Cayman makes 265 Horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque while the Cayman S produces 295 Horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. The other difference between the two trims is the Transmission. The Cayman comes standard with a 5-Speed Manual while the Cayman S comes standard with a 6-Speed Manual. The optional Automatic Steptronic Transmission is the same for both models.
